A skiers-only mountain at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon with deep, dry snow, steep chutes and a ticket office that still feels like 1970. Snowboards are not allowed.

Big, steep and snowy, Snowbird climbs 3,000 vertical feet from a concrete base village to Hidden Peak, with a 125-passenger tram, the open bowl of Mineral Basin and one of the longest seasons in the West.

Brighton is the locals’ hill at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, with laid-back lodges, tree skiing, strong terrain parks and some of the best night skiing in Utah.

Solitude lives up to its name on most weekdays: a quieter Cottonwood resort with a small European-style village, the steep backside of Honeycomb Canyon and a Nordic center at Silver Lake.

The largest single ski resort in the United States, with two base areas, more than 300 runs and a lift that leaves from Park City’s historic Main Street.

Deer Valley is Utah’s polished, skiers-only resort, famous for grooming, service and food, and now more than double its old size after a huge expansion toward the Jordanelle Reservoir.

A small action-sports hill right off I-80 with lit terrain parks, tubing and a huge indoor hub full of trampolines, foam pits and skate bowls, built for learning tricks.

Snowbasin hosted the 2002 Olympic downhill: big, varied terrain under Mount Ogden and grand log-and-stone lodges, an hour north of Salt Lake City.

Powder Mountain sits on a high, rolling ridge above Eden, with wide-open glades, low crowds and an independent streak. It is not on the big multi-resort passes, and part of the mountain is set aside for its private residential community.

A small, friendly hill on the Ogden Valley side of the mountains with low prices and night skiing. It is a good first mountain for kids and new skiers.

A family-run ski area at the top of Logan Canyon, owned and operated by the same family since 1939, with cheap tickets, deep snow and an old-time lodge.

A small ski area that opened in 2015 above the Cache Valley town of Richmond, with night skiing, tubing and small-town prices.

The year-round mountain resort Robert Redford founded in the North Fork of Provo Canyon, below Mount Timpanogos: skiing and Nordic trails in winter, lift-served hikes in summer, and an art studio and restaurants all year.

The highest base elevation of any Utah ski resort, on a plateau above Cedar City. It is a Southern Utah ski day you can pair with red rock and Cedar Breaks.

Use the source’s update date and time zone, especially around overnight storms. Off-season or stale reports may retain old readings. A missing or undated report does not mean no snow.
Compare approximate resort locations statewide, then zoom into the Wasatch cluster. These orientation maps show reference points, not access roads, parking entrances, trails or operating status.
Each resort profile now links to its trail map. Compare the right base area, winter or summer layout, and lift connections before booking. Maps show terrain; the operator’s report supplies current openings.
