Cliffrose is a shrub or small tree, 2 to about 11 feet tall, with small, lobed evergreen leaves. Its showy, fragrant flowers have five white to cream petals, and its seeds carry feathery tails.

At Arches it grows in desert shrub, grassland and pinyon-juniper communities. Its fruit is food for wildlife. References use several scientific names for it, listed with this page's basics.
