Mount Aire rises between Mill Creek and Parleys canyons. The Forest Service's Mill Creek Canyon map gives 8,621 feet.

USGS geologist Max D. Crittenden mapped the Mount Aire quadrangle in 1965. Forest Service descriptions of the Lambs Canyon side note aspen, Douglas-fir and spruce. The peak is national forest land in a Mount Aire inventoried roadless area, which is a different category from wilderness. The trail starts near Elbow Fork in Mill Creek Canyon.
