Gobblers Knob overlooks the basins between Mill Creek and Big Cottonwood canyons. Forest Service mapping gives 10,246 feet. It is in Mount Olympus Wilderness, designated in 1984.

The Utah Geological Survey identifies a moraine left by a glacier from Alexander Basin. The Forest Service lists Alexander Basin and Gobblers Knob as destinations of the Alexander Basin trail. In winter it is avalanche terrain; survey records include fatal avalanches on the peak.
