Ben Lomond rises north of Ogden. A state-supported history of Weber County lists it at 9,717 feet. Weber County road records from 1885 use bearings to the peak, a sign of how long it has served as a landmark.

A USGS description identifies limestone at the summit and quartzite in the mountain front. The Forest Service lists the tall-forb meadows near Ben Lomond and Willard Basin as a conservation feature. Weber County trail plans include the Ben Lomond and North Skyline trails.
