Tremonton's redevelopment housing fund held $2.38 million when it awarded $400,000 to Habitat for Humanity
A Tremonton redevelopment fund held $2,375,951 restricted for low-income housing in mid-2025. In July 2025 the agency awarded Habitat for Humanity $400,000 from its only application. The city's June 2026 budget shows $800,000 spent on the housing program in 2025-26 and $1 million budgeted for 2026-27.
Tremonton's UTOPIA pledge costs about $293,000 a year after refunds, and runs through 2040
Tremonton's sales tax pledge to UTOPIA's bonds cost the general fund $412,178 in fiscal 2025, offset by $118,994 returned from UTOPIA. The annual maximum rises about 2% a year until 2040, and the city budgets $430,000 for fiscal 2027.
Tremonton's Rocket Road widening went to the lowest of 18 bids
Tremonton awarded the Rocket Road widening to Rupp Trucking for $1,034,650 in January 2026, below the engineer's $1.13 million estimate. Councilmember Beau Lewis disclosed that his brother works for the company and said he wouldn't take part in the discussion. He voted for the consent agenda that included the award.
Tremont Center's 2025 report as posted carries 2024 figures
The report attached to Tremonton's July 2026 redevelopment resolution for tax year 2025 has tables ending in 2024 and a June 2025 signature. Staff told the board the figures had been updated. In November 2025 the board gave the Tremont Center developer two more years to build a Main Street entrance.
