Delta at a glance
Millard County · Utah
Delta’s history is closely tied to rail transport and irrigation. The city traces its early names through Aiken, Melville and Burtner before the name Delta was adopted in 1911. Water storage and irrigation companies helped turn the surrounding land into farming ground.
That agricultural and transportation background remains a useful way to understand the community. The city website offers a local history alongside practical resources for the library, utilities, planning and public meetings. Residents can use those municipal resources without treating a visitor overview as a substitute for current service information. Delta lists regular council meetings separately from joint council and Planning and Zoning work meetings. Use the meeting type and date to select the right notice, and open its text when no attachment is shown; a work-meeting agenda and later council minutes serve different purposes.
