Vernon at a glance

Tooele County · Utah

Vernon lies at the southern end of Rush Valley along State Route 36, near the historic Pony Express corridor. The town describes connections with the Sheeprock Mountains, Vernon Hills and Vernon Reservoir, giving the community a role as a starting point for trips into the surrounding landscape.

Its history follows livestock grazing, farming and the work of maintaining a settlement in a dry valley. The municipal website combines that account with council notices, water information, forms and community events. Regional recreation destinations are separate from town facilities, and a historic route is not itself a statement about public access to every nearby road or parcel.
