Accounting and school-community involvement

Tiara Auxier is a tax accountant with an accounting degree from the University of Utah, according to her House biography. It also records service on school and district community councils, in Scouting and through her church. Her professional training and volunteer experience provide background on fiscal administration and school communities alongside her experience as a parent and participant in school and district community councils. [1]

A multi-county House district

Auxier began House service in January 2025 and represents District 4, which the current roster places in Morgan, Rich and Summit counties. Her standing committee assignments include Education and Judiciary. The combination gives her responsibilities involving public schools, students and legal policy across a district spanning several counties, alongside representation of residents across all three counties included in the official district record. [1]

Privacy rules for education vendors

Auxier sponsored 2026 HB55, Privacy Compliance for Education Technology Vendors, recommended by the Education Interim Committee. Its introduced text proposed contract requirements, notification when a vendor unlawfully sells student information and termination when a privacy violation is not remedied after notice. It is a specific example of her education and legal-policy work involving the handling of student data, including the terms education agencies would put in contracts and the response required after notification of a privacy violation. [2]

In the 2026 General Session, Tiara Auxier was chief sponsor of H.B. 21, Senior Care Facility Amendments. It sets duties for an assisted living facility that plans to close, sell or change its use, bars the facility from taking new residents while those plans are pending, and lets a county attorney or the attorney general ask a court to appoint a receiver if the rules are ignored. The governor signed it on March 17, 2026. [3]

In the 2026 General Session, Tiara Auxier was chief sponsor of H.B. 55, Privacy Compliance for Education Technology Vendors. It requires contracts with education technology vendors to include privacy provisions, and it makes schools and agencies notify a vendor that sold student data illegally and end the contract if the vendor does not fix the problem. The governor signed it on February 27, 2026. [4]

Public-school budgets and legal review

Her current roster lists Public Education Appropriations and interim assignments in Education and Judiciary. Those responsibilities put school spending alongside the policy and legal questions considered by her standing committees. Her biography identifies transparency, local control and parental authority as priorities; the committee and bill records provide concrete places to follow how those stated interests intersect with legislative proposals and funding decisions.
