Law and international work

Jordan D. Teuscher earned degrees in political science and philosophy and a law degree at Brigham Young University. His official House biography describes managing and negotiating complex legal agreements for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 2014. The campaign adds experience in constitutional law and international legal reform. Those career descriptions are separate from his authority as a state legislator. [2] [1]

South Jordan and House service

Teuscher's campaign biography describes more than three decades in South Jordan, graduation from the Jordan School District and volunteer work coaching youth sports and substitute teaching. He began House service in January 2021 and represents District 44 in Salt Lake County. The current Legislature record identifies him as House Rules chair, a leadership responsibility in addition to representing his constituents. [1] [2]

A first-responder health initiative

In a campaign update available at this review, Teuscher described sponsoring 2026 H.B. 416 to establish a firefighter cancer-benefit trust fund and participating in its board's initial work. The Legislature titles the measure First Responder Health Modifications. His account describes the initiative's purpose; it is not independent verification of cancer-screening results, benefit payments or how much funding reached individual firefighters. [1] [3]

In the 2026 General Session, Jordan D. Teuscher was chief sponsor of H.B. 33, Political Signs Amendments. It sets where the paid-for-by disclosure goes on political advertising, shrinks the size of signs exempt from it, bans putting political signs on utility poles, traffic devices and similar fixtures, extends sign-defacing penalties, and has counties and cities designate drop-off spots for removed signs. The governor signed it on March 23, 2026. [4]

In the 2026 General Session, Jordan D. Teuscher was chief sponsor of H.B. 107, Vehicle Sales Tax Amendments. It would have exempted the lower purchase price from sales tax when a person buys one vehicle and sells another in separate transactions, and set a late registration penalty. It never reached a floor vote: a committee sent it back to the Rules Committee, and it was filed on March 6, 2026. [5]

Business, local government and oversight

His current assignments include House Business, Labor, and Commerce, Political Subdivisions, Ethics and Rules. Economic and Community Development Appropriations, related interim committees and the Utah Commission on Uniform State Laws round out the portfolio. These records locate his formal work on business, municipal government and legal consistency. To assess a specific measure, its final text, funding and recorded votes should be considered separately from campaign summaries of accomplishments. [2]
