Education and nonprofit work

Dawn R. Ramsey’s background includes more than 25 years managing and leading organizations, according to South Jordan’s biography. Her education advocacy included service on the Utah PTA board and as a regional director covering Jordan School District schools. Mayoral service

Her official biography connects her municipal agenda with public safety, housing, transportation, economic development, education and open space. She presents those subjects as interconnected responsibilities in managing rapid growth. Her regional involvement includes past leadership of the Utah League of Cities and Towns and the Salt Lake County Council of Governments. [1]

Working across jurisdictions

The city identifies her participation in water, transportation, housing and economic development organizations. Her listed assignments include the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, Jordan River Commission and Point of the Mountain State Land Authority. Such work places South Jordan’s interests in discussions involving neighboring communities and state agencies, alongside her responsibilities within the city itself. [1]

Priorities for 2026

In her January 2026 State of the City address, Ramsey identifies a planned 17,000-square-foot senior center paired with senior housing as a priority. The city’s account describes approximately 200 units, with three-quarters designated affordable. She also discusses transit access, the Pure SoJo water initiative and economic development. Her address links those projects to continued public safety, recreation and service investments. [2]
