Background
Daniel Olson is Santaquin’s mayor and a former operations executive. In his 2025 candidate statement published by the city, he said he retired as GlobalSim’s vice president of operations in 2020. His public-service background includes four decades as a Santaquin firefighter, earlier City Council and mayoral service during 1980–1985, and work on planning and zoning and a water-treatment selection committee. Olson won the mayoral election again in 2021. The city’s budget narrative dates the beginning of that later administration to January 2022.
