Education and business

Craig Christensen represents District 1 on the Provo City Council, with a term expiring in January 2028. He earned an English degree at Brigham Young University and an MBA at Harvard Business School. His city biography credits him with starting four businesses and creating local employment, giving him a business-management background alongside his elected service. [1]

Community and development priorities

A Provo resident for more than three decades, Christensen identifies sensible growth, a supportive business environment and preservation of the city’s character as priorities. His official biography also points to advocacy involving Utah Lake and Bridal Veil Falls. Those interests connect his economic-development background with questions about how development affects the landscape and the places residents value. [1]

Bridal Veil Falls and foothills

Christensen’s campaign account describes organizing volunteers against a proposal involving development at Bridal Veil Falls. It also identifies work mobilizing residents against proposed housing on northeast Provo’s foothills. These are specific advocacy efforts he cites as preparation for council service, illustrating a willingness to challenge particular development proposals while continuing to support business activity and growth more broadly. [2]

Utah Lake advocacy

His campaign materials also describe organizing a State Capitol rally and working with legislators Keven Stratton and Curt Bramble in opposition to a proposal for artificial islands in Utah Lake. The account presents coalition-building and communication with state officials as central to that effort. It is his campaign’s description of his role, and does not establish that he alone determined the fate of the project. [2]
