Youth and family support
Washington’s public-service background extends beyond theatre. She worked as a victim advocate at YCC Family Crisis Center and led behavioral support at Ben Lomond High School. There she established The Hub for students needing academic and emotional assistance. Her official biography also identifies coaching junior-varsity girls soccer, connecting her community work with education, mentorship and support during difficult circumstances. [1]
Advocacy and political approach
Her campaign account describes attending council meetings to advocate for preserving community spaces, including the Marshall White Center. It emphasizes accountability, meaningful communication and officials responding to residents’ concerns. Washington presents her experience as a youth mentor, advocate and small-business founder as preparation for elected leadership, connecting cultural and social-service work with the broader task of representing people in municipal decisions. Current council priorities
Washington represents At-Large Seat A after election in November 2025 and an oath of office on January 5, 2026. Her term continues through December 2029. Her official priorities include investing in existing neighborhoods, maintaining infrastructure and improving access to decisions affecting residents. Her own website describes that agenda as building a city government that listens and communicates with the people it serves. [1] [2]
