Six San Juan School District schools have extended at-home learning as heavy rain raises flood risks in southern Utah, KUTV reported. The district said Bluff Elementary, Montezuma Creek Elementary, Whitehorse High, Monument Valley High, Tse'bii'Nidzisgai Elementary and Navajo Mountain High were moved to at-home learning. [1]

Students at those schools were released early Wednesday, around 12:30 p.m., as thunderstorms entered southern Utah, so they could get home before flood risks increased. The district said families of students at schools in Monticello or Blanding can contact their school to excuse absences if the students feel nervous about the weather. [1]

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch Tuesday morning for all of southern Utah and parts of central Utah, warning that a late-season surge of tropical moisture would bring widespread moderate to heavy rain through Thursday. Forecasters said normally dry washes and small streams could see elevated flows and backcountry roads could become impassable. [1]
