Millcreek

Salt Lake County is investigating after mail, including ballots, went missing from mailboxes in a Millcreek neighborhood, KUTV reported. [1]

A resident told KUTV she found at least eight open, empty mailboxes the morning after ballots were mailed. Three neighbors reported similar losses, and at least one tracked her ballot as delivered on Oct. 14. Their mailboxes sit directly on the street, according to KUTV. [1]

County Clerk Lannie Chapman said a handful of people were affected, the missing ballots have been canceled and replacements will be issued. She said the U.S. Postal Service was not involved and that the incident appears to be a crime of opportunity. The county is still determining the full scope, KUTV reported. [1]
