No. 2 BYU's backup running backs have kept the offense moving since LJ Martin was hurt, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick said Tuesday, according to the Deseret News. [1]

Martin sustained a serious ankle injury in the first quarter of the 17-10 win over TCU and has not played since. Junior Preston Rex ran for 66 yards against Notre Dame, and freshman Journee Tonga added 6 rushing yards and a 12-yard catch. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier was not sacked. The Cougars improved to 6-0. Sione Moa, who hurt a knee after six carries in the opener against Utah Tech, was cleared to play against Notre Dame but did not. Roderick said Moa's availability for Saturday's game against UCF (1:30 p.m. MDT, Fox) is undecided, adding "it's just a confidence thing" after his injury history. [1]

"I love the fact that we have a bunch of guys that are ready to play," coach Kalani Sitake said. [1]
