DigiCert grew in part through a purchase from Symantec. Symantec reported that on October 31, 2017 it completed the sale of certain assets and liabilities of its website security and public-key infrastructure business to DigiCert, under a purchase agreement signed August 2, 2017. DigiCert bought that business unit, not Symantec as a whole. [3]
